THEN JESUS CAME
Mark 5:1-20

When Jesus shows up, things happen.  We as the church need to open the door and let him in.

4 Things About this Man’s Condition

  1. This man kept hurting himself. (Mark 5:5  “Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always howling and bruising himself with stones.”)
Today some of us use drugs, sex, overwork & negativity to hurt ourselves.  What are you doing to hurt yourself?  Until you acknowledge it, you will not be free of it.  We should love and not hate; come together and not divide.
  2. He was preoccupied with death. (Mark 5:3 He lived among the tombs;)
Why would someone chose to live in a graveyard? Life’s troubles can lead you to a place where you lose your desire to live.
  3. He had no peace, day or night. (Mark 5:5  “Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always howling and bruising himself with stones.”)
The downside of Godless living is restlessness
  4. He lived in isolation. Satan’s job is made easier when you don’t have a spiritual support system. Fellowship wrecks Satan’s plan.

The good news is that Jesus will find you.  He set this man free, and he will set you free!  When Jesus sets you free, what is your responsibility? To remain free, so you can help set others free.
