On Sunday, September 17, the Wesley Prayer Shawl Ministry celebrated the gift of giving.
The Guest Speaker was Rev Sharon Stewart from Park Lane United Methodist Church. Special guests at the service were a visiting Prayer Shawl Ministry Group from Rush Temple AME Zion in NY.
The shawl is a visible expression of God’s care and love. Don’t forget to do good and share with others. Sacrifices are pleasing to God. Bless His name in public and share what we have with others. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That is the good news.
Firefighter Dan Herman was also invited to the service to be recognized by the congregation for fixing the church bell last December. As a token of their appreciation, the Prayer Shawl Ministry presented Dan with five hand-made afghan blankets, one for each bed at his station, saying they hoped they brought comfort and warmth to the firefighters serving their community.
