Adult Ministries

Adult Ministry at Wesley United Methodist Church is all about helping adults connect and grow in a relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. We provide a Christian nurturing atmosphere with opportunities to grow in our relationship with God, through Bible and spiritual enrichment studies, fellowship and relational experiences, and in service activities. Individuals experience a sense of family, study the Bible, minister and reach out to others, serve others, and share the gospel.  Please explore them and find your place to make a difference.
55 Plus Senior Ministry

“Blessed Not Stressed”

55 Plus Senior Ministry is open to all people 55 and older who like to gather and fellowship in a Christian setting. We meet on the last Friday of each month excluding July and August, to have a buffet lunch and receive information that is relevant to our station in life. We conduct a senior led worship service once a year, usually in the month of September. The entire service is conducted by senior members of the church. Everyone is welcome.

Health & Wellness Ministry
God desires that our physical and mental bodies prosper as well as our souls.. The Health & Wellness Ministry of Wesley invites you to participate in many opportunities to move toward the wholeness that we all want to achieve by promoting the Christian message of healing the body, mind and spirit among all persons within our church and community.

For information about joining the Health & Wellness Ministry, please contact Gina Harris.

Sound Ministry
Those who are unable to attend church services can still hear the word of God and His songs of praise. The Sound Ministry provides copies of church services to the sick and shut-in members free of charge.

For more information contact Horace Edison, Charles Murphy, or call the Church Office at 478.7007.

Communications Ministry
The Communications Ministry reaches the congregation and our community through media in order to inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of Wesley United Methodist Church.  We are actively seeking new members to help with Sunday service slides, social media, website updates, flyer creation, sermon recording editing & uploads, photography, design and copywriting.

Usher Board
As Ushers and Door Keepers in the house of our Lord, we go about our duties with reverence and honor.  We are glad to be ushers and invite all believers, ages 12 and older who are interested to come serve with us.  We all serve on 1st Sundays, and divide responsibilities for the other Sundays of the month.  This gives our ushers an opportunity to enjoy the service and participate in other ministries of the church.  Usher Board meetings for Adult Ushers are held the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  If you are interested in being an usher, you may contact the church office and be placed in touch with the Usher Board President for orientation and training.

We are committed to Our Social Principles on …Sexual Abuse as highlighted in the United Methodist Book of Discipline.  Please contact the church office for additional information.
Warrior Women Prayer Shawl Ministry
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Warrior Women Prayer Shawl Ministry of Wesley UMC is to knit or crochet shawls and afghans, anoint them with prayer and meditation, and then give these shawls to persons in need of prayer, comfort, or blessings.  When the shawl is presented to someone, it is a visible expression of care, concern, and God’s love.  The recipients then use the shawls in the ways that are personally helpful.

Our meetings are held directly following morning worship service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month in the fellowship hall.

This time is used to bless finished shawls, prayer time, fellowship and crochet lessons for the less experienced in the group.  No shawl or afghan can be given away without being blessed. Anyone can join this group and does not have to be a member of Wesley.

For information about joining theWarrior Women Prayer Shawl Ministry of Wesley UMC, please contact Juanita Stephens.
