Children’s Sabbath Sunday
October 31 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
We invite you to join Wesley for the 2021 Children’s Sabbath Observance. Children and Youth will use their talents to lead service, and we will celebrate their active participation in the life of the church. Each year the Children’s Defense Fund selects a theme for the National Observance of Children’s Sabbath that encourages prayer, education, and service to help children and families.
The theme for the 2021 observance is Where Does It Hurt? Listening to Heal Our Children. Children and youth across the nation and around the world have faced a time of crisis and challenge like no other in living memory. The pandemic has been disruptive to their lives in ways we do not yet see or understand. They have been witnesses of the national reckoning with racism and white supremacy, over-policing, and police killing of unarmed Black and brown children, youth, and adults. They watched the scenes of attempted insurrection and attacks upon democratic systems. The toll taken on their mental health and sense of security has been great. They need caring adults with the courage of faith in Christ to ask the question, “Where does it hurt?” and to listen to what they have to say.
The new Jesus Rocks t-shirts are here! Order your shirts today and have them in time for Children Sabbath Sunday service on October 31.
